Vent whole in the left side of the engine

Hey everyone,

I am new to this site and actually new to the FZ6. I have not ridden in about 10 years and really liked everything about the FZ6 so I just got an 07.

When I was looking at the bike I noticed a small whole in the left side of the engine right where the middle of the cylinders would be, anyone know what it is? Looks like a vent of some kind (like a breather?) but there is no cover on it.

Let me know if anyone does.

Someone told me it was a drain for water, perfectly normal.

Hole is in every FZ6 AFAIK... it's normal...

from what i can tell is that it is to let water drain if it settles in the head where the spark plus go in.

Rob is correct. The FZ1 even has that hole too.

if i am not mistaken there is one on the right side too...

It does not look like the opening is into the area where the spark plugs are but that would make since. I did not see one on the right side.
