Has anyone ticked the Long/Short or Raised/Lowered boxes when ordering a custom seat from these guys? Just curious as to what these options mean. I think I understand the Raised/Lowered choice, but long/short ??

Thanks in advance

I have the long... What this means is where that little "back rest" is located... long puts you a little further away from the tank and short crowds you close to the tank. :D

I just bought the TS seat. I got the long option.
This moves the backrest by 3 cm.

Can't wait until it gets here!!!:rockon:

This from their FAQ on their website:

What do the "raised", "lowered", "short" and "long" shape options refer to?

Raised/lowered ("Deluxe seats" and "Designer style seat covers"): this means that the height of the driver's seat is raised by about 3 cm, or conversely, lowered by about 3 cm, with respect to the standard driver's seat height (corresponding to the height characteristics of your original seat).
The height of the passenger seat is never affected.

Short/long ("Deluxe seat" only): along these same lines, it has to do with the positioning of the backrest between the front and rear seats of the saddle, in that it may be shifted forwards or backwards by about 3 cm, so that the driver's seat may be shorter or longer than in the standard form of the Deluxe seat. The total seat length is never affected in any case.

Drivers of all builds will be able to choose from one or all of these options depending on their needs, e.g. in order for their feet to touch the ground comfortably, or for them to sit closer to the handlebars or further away from the petrol tank.

Thanks for the information. How tall are you guys and is this why you chose the Long option? Why didn't you go for the Raised option?

Thanks in advance.

The first one I got was the standard seat, no options. I found that "the boys" had zero room between themselves and the tank. I sold the seat to a smaller-in-the-arse FZ1 rider and bought the long option. I did not go raised because I can flatfoot the bike with my knees slightly bent.

I am 5' 10" with a 32" inseam and weigh 219 without gear on.

Hope this helps. :D

i'm 5' 8" and i got the long option because i want more room.
i'm not a fat arse, but i don't want my raisins to get crushed.
also, i like to shift my weight around when i'm riding the twisties, so i didn't want to be as planted into the seat as the standard model would have you be.
i also opted for material sel0047 which, according to TS when I emailed them, is the closest to the stock yamaha material. i didn't want a super-sticky material.
i didn't get the raised option because i can barely flatfoot the bike. :(
i even got the gel option because it won't loose its cushion and get crushed over time.

we'll see how it all works out. damn thing is expensive. it had better send me to the moon for the price i paid for it.....:D

I am 6'3" and almost 300 lbs and have a regular TS seat and find it to not be too tight anywhere. I also have a 33" inseam and find the standard setup of the seat puts you higher off the ground (which gives more legroom).

I have decided that I probably would like the "long" version, but with a 36 inseam I may also benefit from the raised option. Has anyone ordered the raised seat? What are your measurements/impressions of this option?

Thanks in advance
