Information New Member, 06'/07' FZ6

Hi guys! I'm around the Denver area and daily my FZ6 whenever possible.

I've owned my FZ6 for about 3 years now, but I'm still not 100% sure which year my bike is, and would love confirmation!

I bought it from Facebook marketplace and was told it's a 2008. Since owning it, I don't think that's accurate, it has to be an 06' or 07' I think. The speedo and windscreen throw me off a little. Please confirm my model year.

Other questions I had: my windscreen has a big scrape across it and I want to replace it. But whatever year I have has the weird OEM windscreen where it goes across the entire front end and down further than most years. Can I replace it with something like the version I circled, which is much skinnier and only covers the middle slot?

Second question: I am trying to find a replacement front end plastics (I tipped my bike over and it busted the whole front end plastic assembly) and LED headlights. I can't find plastic kits anywhere on the Internet. So, 1stly, can I convert my halogen headlights to LED easily? And 2ndly, does anyone have a front end they'd sell me? If I don't find one, I might have to convert it to a naked bike (but I really don't want to, I like the original look).

I'm glad I joined this forum because y'all are truly inspiring with all you do with the Fazers. My friend told me that I should just total my bike but I don't want to, I'm determined to save it.

Oh and here's the vin! To me it would make since if it's an 06' because of the mfg date. But when I looked up other 06's, there were a couple of subtle differences I thought.

Welcome to the forum. The '06 models had black frames and engines. '05 were silver. The 11/05 should be an '06 model.

Your bike is a 2006. The front fairing n the 2006 i a series 1. The series 2 started in 2007 and had a different fairing as well as a few other parts as well as other performance programming.

If you look at the fairing you will see the different design with regard to the windscreen and plastics. yours is S1 series and the windscreen design you want is the S2. The S2 windscreen will not fit the S1 plastics.
If you want the S2 fairing you may have to change more than just the plastics.
