Top Sellerie mishap!

wow. wow. i'm speechless. i have a TS seat and love it. i'm glad things worked out for me. if i would have seen this thread i wouldn't have gone with them. you shouldn't have to go through this. but if you get it resolved you will have a nice seat. they are quite comfy. good luck. this is so bad. when you email them you should point them to this thread. their reputation isn't soaring all that high on this forum recently with a few big mishaps and their lack of care and willingness to get the things fixed in a timely manner and look out for their customers.

wow. good luck.

Here is the crazy part.....when I got the first damaged seat, I told them that I would be documenting my experience with them here on this forum.:eyebrow:

Yikes, you would think the fact your going to be relating your experiences with them to an entire community (and a well known one too) would put a little weight behind doing the job properly....
I know I always check the forum to find out about good shops or deals when I need something if possible.
Plus you look at how often this site comes up in relation to searches, they'll probably start finding posts about this issue coming up when people search for their product name. Not a smart move for them!

Here is my thought - They could have seen it as a threat or fire under them to force them to do the right thing by the customer OR a great opportunity to gain some good press on how they handle problems and show great customer service.

Sigh, really not enjoying this experience.:disapprove:

   i'm shocked. i almost feel guilty for liking mine so much. ok, guilt is over. but i wouldn't have bought from them if this (and a few other threads) had been around. i guess i lucked out. i got a great seat. all i can say is

Not broken seats but here's how mine is progressing as well....

Chronological order of events for Top Saddlery FZ1 seats:

Aug 5th - Order bargain bin FZ1 seats from Top Saddlery - borrowed pans, 45 days to return original seats or be charged 283 euros

Aug 6th - Seats shipped from Top Saddlery

Aug 12th - Seats arrive

Aug 28th - Original seats shipped back to Top Saddlery

Aug 30th - Cut a deal with Norm Miller. He buys my TS seats, I custom order a new set to suit my needs. Ordered customized set that night. Borrowed pans once again. Next payment for non-receipt of original seats is on Oct 15th.

Sept 1st - Aurélien from Top Saddlery e-mails me asking about my original seats and claims they must have my originals to fill the new order. I scanned the shipping documents and e-mailed them in response to the e-mail.
Sept 20th - Top Saddlery charges my CC for non-receipt of original seats as they have yet to arrive. I e-mail them and Aurélien replies stating a reimbursement will occur when they receive the seats.

Sept 25th - Top Saddlery confirms my original seats arrived and reimburses my account.

Sept 28th - Aurélien e-mails and says my new seats will ship the next day. I inquire about moving my debit date for non-receipt of the original seats for this order out to a full 45 days since this order was not filled at the time it was placed.

Sept 30th - Aurélien e-mails me back and states : "I will check with the chartered accountant to avoid the debit of the caution."

Oct 6th - I receive the second set of seats, e-mail Aurélien and confirm. I once again ask to confirm I will not be charged on Oct 15th for non-receipt of the original seats and that I will have the full 45 days to return the original seats. I ship the original seats this day and scan the documents to PDF then email Aurélien back with the attachment.

Oct 8th - Aurélien replies with: "Hello, Tahnk you for your e-mail, I am very pleased to know that the seats meet your expectations ; as requested, I have asked to our chartered accountant to postpone the debit of the deposit. Regards, Aurélien , Export, Top Sellerie

Oct 15th - I receive an e-mail from Top Saddlery's payment processing center stating my card is charged 283 euros! I e-mail Aurélien and tell them I expect reimbursement within 24 hrs or I will ask the credit card company to force a reimbursement with penalties for their company.

Thus, with only 9 days until that debit was to be canceled, they expected my seats back because they OBVIOUSLY did not cancel the transaction even though I gave them confirmation that the seats shipped the day after this order arrived. Tomorrow, if there's no record of reimbursement, I'm having the CC company start the process of reversing the charge!

Top Sellerie Customer Service and Quailty control sucks. I dont care how nice the seats are I for one would not take the chance with them after reading this thread. Seems they just dont really care about the customer too much!

Dont they realize with threads like this how much they will lose?

This thread is already coming up 6th spot in google for the search term Top Sellerie

Update: The firm e-mail I sent this morning worked! I got a reimbursement about 30 minutes ago! :D Someone over there is listening! Whew!

I agree completely!! They are shooting themselves in the foot if they are this careless with a rather costly product.

Eric, I'm feeling very guilty about this. I knew some of the trouble you were having but didn't realize they were still yanking your chain right up until just yesterday. I do love my TS seat and it is hands down the best custom seat I or any of my friends have ever ordered. When they get it right it's a first class seat, better than Corbin, IMO. But as I told Eric, I haven't had good luck dealing with France. (I actually said a little worse...).

JMan, sorry for your troubles as well. I hope it gets straightened out. If they do finally get it right for you I think you'll love the seat. It's a huge upgrade over the stock seats and the single best mod I've ever had.

Don't feel guilty Norm. :D I do not hold you in any way responsible and knew I was dealing with some strange circumstances.

My situation was unique having overlapping orders with returns. The chances of anyone else having this issue is very slim but should anyone have the need to order two seats back to back? I'd suggest not ordering a second time until the initial order is 100% worked out! :D

UPDATE: Got home from an a$$ kicker of a day to find out that I received - no response whatsoever from Top Sellerie! :spank::spank::spank::spank::spank:

Maybe a class action lawsuit with enough angry customers may help. I am totally fed up with this crap.

It's a crappy way to do business for sure. Wish they made that seat in the USA...or Canada or England or Australia, or Belgium...or anywhere but France.

Well, I am not judging all of France on this experience.....but, the fact that the product comes from so far away certainly doesn't help matters any.

Wow, it seems their customer service is getting even worse! I ordered a custom "lowered" seat from them not too long ago. It was not lowered and I had a heck of time getting them to admit it. Finally settled on having them ship me a free tank cover and just bought a hyper pro lowering spring instead.

I'm very sorry to hear of your situation being even worse! It's part of the risk of ordering over seas and so they may now just start losing some FZ6 forum business.

Should we start a count of people that are not ordering from Top Sellerie until they see an improvement in customer service? Maybe if they see a tangible effect, they'll consider changing their ways ...

I'll start the count at 1.

I think I'm counting 4: Kamploops, Clunk, Zigzagg321 and Mcteague

Ca fait rien! C'est une companie terrible, laquelle ne veut/va pas changer. C'est futile.

UPDATE: 2 days, 2 emails - absolutely no response or sign of correcting the second damaged seat.

I am out 580 bucks all together and have a cracked in half seat to show for it. (Made purchase Sept. 4th for my seat.)

The lesson here, fellow members considering a TS seat, pretty much speaks for itself. If my hard earned money (and lately very hard earned) can do anything here - I hope it will spare someone else this kind of horrible experience.

I'm speechless at this point as to how a company can conduct themselves in such a way. How hard is it to answer an email, use better packing methods or pick a better carrier for shipping a product.

If I ever get a response, I will update this thread. May be moot at this point, but if Top Sellerie does have the decency to correct any of this - I will update that, too.
