Throttle return speed at grip

How snappy is your throttle return?
Mine is slow almost to the point of being it's own throttle lock.
I've taken it apart, started lubricating everything and still is very slow.
Have not taken the tank off to check yet.

Mine is normal "snappy" - I'd keep doing your troubleshooting as something sounds wrong.

You probably need to lube the cable. Do you ride a lot in dusty or rainy situations? Get a good cable lubricant which is typically a dry graphite based. Oily lubes will simply attract dirt and gum up quicker.

The cables either need lubrication, or are too tight, or are misrouted.

Or it's a problem with the right hand grip or the throttle bodies themselves.

I just put new gel grips on my tonight and had to trim the throttle side one with my pocket knife because the throttle would stick or barely twist back

Someone mentioned about lubing the cable, i did my clutch cable last night, been sticky for a while. Used engine oil, dripped it into the cable ... much better today.
But what is best for lubing inside cables?

I recently placed some grip puppies on myself. I too had to cut about a half inch off the ends so that it would stay clear from the bar ends. Had to do the samething when I changed out my grips too.

After cutting the grip puppies, you may want to get some 100 grit sand paper and sand down the cut portion and round it down nice and smooth.

Try adjusting the screw where the throttle cable leaves the grip.

Most likely grip puppies rubbing against the bar end weights. I had the same problem. Nothing a lil trim can't solve.

Installed Throttle Meister and yes it was the grip puppies rubbing... daaaah.

Lol, had exactly the same problem with my Oxford Hot Grips...quick trim, all fixed. Little bit of wd40 every now and then keeps things nice and smooth too.

i have the same problem but only when I ride, when the bike is off throttle response is explosive, momentary.
but when I start my bike, throttle becomes slow, when i release it sticks and than slowly starts to return...

why is that?
