thinking about fz1 bar and these bar risers, please offer your insight

btw, is the fz1 bar a straight swap that needs no modifications? ok so i heard that fz1 bar gives a more aggressive riding position. i prefer more upright so i dont kill my wrists so i'm thinking about these:

which one would be better? sry for asking but im a super noob when it comes to this. btw at full lock i don't want to handlebar to be too close to the gas tank and it seems like without bar risers the fz1 bar would be really close to the tank. wouldn't wanna jam my hand against the tank doing tight turns lol

Just a hunch, but I think if you put on the FZ1 bars with either riser you will end up with new bars in almost the same position. Are you just trying to get the look of the FZ1 bars?

I've been contemplating the FZ1 bars with Rox Speed antivibration risers. I saw a shot of a bike on here with that setup and it looked like the handle bar position ended up being pretty similar to stock.

oh yeah my stock bar is bent so i thought i might as well try something different. i think the hand position is different. our stock bar is shaped in a way that i need to twist my wrists outward a little to hold onto the grips. feels a little unnatural to me. fz1 bar seems straighter so it should help...

To say that the fz1 bars give an "aggressive" riding position is a bit of an over-statement, IMHO. Maybe a little bit, but not so much. It's nothing even remotely approaching the feel of full clip-on's. I think Jamie's (wolfman) got a set of straight bars on his bike, or he did. Those also look like a bit of a reach.

I'd say it's still pretty darn neutral. Obviously, less swept up and back than the stock bars, but it's not a reach by any means.

I'm 6' and I was worried I wouldn't like the riding position -- I was afraid they'd cause a load on the wrists, but they don't.

It's a good mod and cheap, too. And the only thing I had to do was to loosen my front brake line to rotate it just a little for clearance.

I will post a picture when I get home tonight. I'm totally pleased with the FZ1 bars with the risers from Twisted Throttle. Upright enough for comfort and the annoying FZ6 sweep is gone.

No problems at all with the bars. The handguards will hit my windshield when I have them in set up for maximum wind protection, since they are made of a flexible plastic they just bend enough so that I can turn to full lock.

These handguards are the Barkbuster ones?? I was thinking about buying them, but they seemed to big for the fizzer...they look great.

My opinion about the handlebar riser is FANTASTIC. I used to ride my brother's R1150GS before buying my FZ6. At the beggining, I had a terrible shoulder pain (because of the position change). I bought this risers, and 2 day later...the pain was over...

About the FZ1 handlebar, i used to ride a naked FZ1, but in stock configuration, and i felt it too sport for me.
