The Rant Thread

I think I saw 8k pounds, 11.5USD, which is the price they seem to double to rip us off as much as possible.
Would be good to see it in the mid teens though.

Saw it was meant to compete with the street triple which is of course in that 14-15ish area.

I have heard as low as $16500...to compete head on with the Supersport 600's!

If it comes in at under $16000 i am buying one i reckon.....and using it as a "touring bike"! Lol!

Hahah first investment: seat padding; if its anything like its older brother.

I mean the 990 is actually quite a small bike, much smaller than the FZ6

I love small bikes...the skinnier the better IMHO! Hence why i am a "tragic" for middleweights...

:D

OK, New rant! Last night i finally got round to replacing the hydraulic brake light sensor on the black bike....the old one got crushed when i was removing the sub frame during modifications! because it was mounted directly underneath the subframe, on top of the rear brake master cylinder banjo connector...and there was NO clearance between the WR450 Hydraulic brake light switch, i had to use, because the "race only" valtermoto rearsets i have on the bike, came with no rear brake light sensor...

So my rant starts here! Last time i had the bike shop fit the brake light sensor for me...in fact, i let the mechanic from the bike shop come up with a solution to the problem of not having a rear brake light sensor...and the end result worked, but the installation left the brake light sensor jammed up against the rear sub frame..in fact it was a bit squashed even...

I have never quite been happy with this, but put up with it, because it worked, and looked ok.

But after i broke the thing taking off the sub-frame, i decided that this time i decided i would fit it, and see whether i could do it better, and end up with a much more durable, less compromised position for the sensor...

So i went and bought another ADR approved WR450 hydraulic brake light sensor, and last night set about fitting said sensor...

I take the seat & tank off, to trace the wiring from the broken brake light sensor, that was still attached to the bike...when i get to the point where the sensor's wiring connects to the bike, i am confronted with a bunch of black insulation tape...remove it, and i find a pretty shoddy witing job...it is obvious straight away that the connections for the WR450 brake light sensor, dont match up with the FZ6 connectors!! So the bike shop has just cut the wires and twisted them together, and taped it up...horrified! so first job was to put a decent set of new connectors on both the brake light sensor wiring, and the wiring at the bike end of the connection...some shrink wrap to tidy it all up, and things are "serviceable" at least!!!

Then i get to the other end, where the rear brake master cylinder attaches to the rear set...it is obvious to fit the brake light sensor, without it getting crushed again by the sub frame that all i need to do is put some spacers in the mounts, and at the brake pedal pivot, and move the master cylinder back 5mm, which gives the brake light sensor clearance behind the sub frame...so simple...brake works just as well, everything is still straight, and once again, everything is "serviceable"...

My problem is, that if i can work that out....a shed "hack" who knows very little about anything mechanical, then why could'nt a mechanic, who was employed as a workshop manager, work it out!!! Probably because he was too lazy...

Worst thing is, i got charged $180 in labour for the "install" last time...no problem with that, except that for $180, i expect more for my money...like a decent set of connectors on the wiring, and a better "solution" to a simple problem...

Should also be mad with myself, cause i should of paid more attention the first time, and pointed out the solution myself...

Just another story about crap workmanship from a stealership! If your gonna charge $100+ an hour for labour...get it right!!!!

Well, I got up this morning while it was still well in the single figures:eek: (chronologically speaking) and headed out for a squid sesh.

Got one lousy squid, which wasn't even very big:rolleyes:.

While I'm there casting off the rocks, there is a shmo in a boat, comes zooming in to start trolling for squid:confused: (I $h1t you not) up and down where I am casting.

Ok, here comes the rant....

1. Oh look, that guy caught a squid, so I'll roar over thee at 30 knots, and zoom back and forward with my jag para sailing behind the boat because they aren't really designed for trolling (and certainly not at a speed you'd use to keep a skier up at), and see if I can shut the squid down:spank:.

2.Unless the squid is on a jet ski, at 4-6 knots you aren't gonna get any squid anyway:tard:.

3. Why on earth do you pay to launch your boat at the ramp, and cruise around the other side of the breakwater to troll for squid in easy casting distance from the rocks in a fairly well hammered spot, when there are sqillions of better, less hammered spots that shore based fishermen can't reach within 3 minutes from the ramp:banghead:.

It's almost like this guy was employed by the squid to keep them safe from their own urges to chase a jag. Makes me wish I'd taken my other gear with me. I'm sure he'd stay away if I was lobbing 8 ounce sinkers out 160 metres...lol.:Flip:

Ahhh. That's better:D

Have you eaten the Squid yet??? :D

Have you eaten the Squid yet??? :D

Nope. Not yet. It's small enough to need a friend, so I'll have to pop out again, and score another one...or better still, a few more and bigger, so I can do a chilli squid on the Barbie, and some more in crumbs in oil. Mmmmmnomnomnommmm.:D

Hold onto your butts!

Rolled up to work a few minutes ago and some wizzard decided that walking my bike down the alley and parking my 18l of fuel in the smoking area would be safer than riding down at walking speed and parling it over against the fence out of the way. I firmly disabused him of the notion, and explained that walking a bike is far more likely to cause a problem, at which point he confessed that he knows nothing about bikes. So I told him I would park in the already full motorbike park (half a car park next to a switch box, and that they would have to ensure the gates were locked from here on in.

And now the gloves are off. In the interests of safety, I'm gonna make this idiot regret ever opening his pie hole. They are currently pushing through the wearing of surgical masks to prevent a non-existant problem, which has caused peoples safety glasses to fog up constantly. In the interests of safety this will end today, until a solution is found.

i have another few cans of worms to needle them with as well, and will very happily use them.

What a tool! To prevent a non-existant problem he wanted me to park a fuel tank in in a smoking area where there is a known history of bin fires.

Smokers aren't the brightest of people :D (No one here smokes anymore right? Too exp now :P)

Plus who the hell would park their bike somewhere where people can throw butts or lit fags onto it, seriously?
Need those automatic motion censoring shotguns from the James Bond car.

Spot on Kris. Too many good reasons not to park my bike in that pig pen.

Of course one of this guy's friends rides a push bike. Guess where they park it. Guess who's gonna complain if they see it there again. Guess who's gonna use a full car park now. Lol.

Apparently the big argument is that people have to squeeze past it.

Of course, the person wide enough to need to squeeze past it can forget about using the door to get into the building, 'cause there is around 10feet of clearence.

Also the only time people go past it is when I'm on day shift....guess who will NEVER come in to work early again. Lol. Wanna be petty and childish? Bring it on I say :BLAA:

parked the bike @ the airport departure and left the bike
thinking there was no one issuing tickets tonight
n i juz got a $66 parking fine!!
D*** it!

:Flip:

Bugger! That sucks when that happens!!! You would think on Christmas night, you might be a bit luckier than that!!!

:(

Anyone who manufactures, sells, buys, or sends Christmas cards with poorly-glued glitter all over them deserves a stocking full of camel poop on Xmas morning.

That is all.
