I had a wee-strom and didn't really consider a versys at the time, more I read about them the more I wish I had considered one. I hope you enjoy your new machine. These kind of bikes are such fun to corner you lean over so much because of the tallness. Really pleased for you. Update us with pics of your mods, when they happen.

Will definitely post up pics when i get some mods going...might be a while because i'm already strapped for cash, going on vacation, and i'm laid off til next wednesday lol...definitely looking forward to putting some mods on it...gotta get a helmet cam or something to to film some of the nice rides i've been having.

To be honest i'd have taken either of them, they're both great bikes, I chose the V for practicality, flickability, and versatility...Theres not many bikes out there that will flick into a corner as nicely and enthusiastically as the Versys... it's a little more nimble than the FZ6 (yes i've ridden one), valves need to be done less often (not that that had anything to do with my decision at the time). The V doesn't have as much "holy crap" factor as the Fazer does in the top end but it gets your where you're going with plenty of fun :thumbup: And, to be honest i grew up on dirtbikes, so the option of being able to toss crash guards and knobbys on it and do some offroading as well also appealed to me

Both of the bikes are great fun to ride, and i plan on adding a FZ to my garage at some point (whether its an FZ1 or a FZ6 we'll see ) .

My best advice is to test ride both of them, the Fazers slightly harder to find a dealer to let you test ride because they dont carry them any more But find a used one and take a test ride...then another on a Versys and see which one you like best.

Just a little added info (as i looked up stuff on both bikes very extensively recently) pre '10 Versys' had a tendancy to vibrate a bit, how bad i can't say because i've only ever ridden mine lol...but in '10 they made cosmetic changes and added rubber engine mounts to reduce vibration.. the FZ6 on the other hand, updated some stuff in 07 (i'm sure there's a thread about it on here somewhere)...Good luck to you and let us know what you do!

According to my manual(s) both the FZ6 and Versys have a 42,000km valve inspection interval...

No prob, ended well anyways

Thx for correcting me on the valve times, i realize now the shorter one was on another bike i was considering (about half the miles of the FZ and V)
