The danish season has now started!!!

It's now 00:26 here in Denmark, - and we are now officially 26 minutes into the 2009 season!!!!!

In 7 or 8 hours I will be out there again, - catching up my lost miles on all you "year-rounders" !!!!!

I was actually able to get the bike out on Wednesday - 52 degrees. :thumbup: Then we got pelted AGAIN by snow.

I'm gonna start out easy with some of the small country roads, just to make sure we get reacquainted in a proper way

Feel like a 5 year old the day before Christmas!!

Oh - and look out for the sand/dirt on the roads too. Our back country roads are just filthy! Had to give the bike a wash job when I got back from the drive. And - I took my corners like a Grandma because there was so much sand spread on them.

The great thing about that, is that we had a decent amount of rain on Friday and Saturday, - so most of the salt/sand/dirt will be off the roads. And since it's Sunday tomorrow, -the roads won't be flooded with cages!!!
But yes, - I'm always extra careful the first 14 days or so of the season.

Trust me, - I'm still considering taking her for a quick spin

But: I think that after 3 months of PMS, it would be wiser to take the first ride in daylight .......

But: gggggggggggrrrrrrr,- can hardly wait!!

Although i did see a novelty plate today that was PMS24X7...

Had a GREAT day on the roads, - got almost 350km on the bike, - she''s running like a dream.
Might just be that it's the first riding day, but shhe seems to run smoother this year!

I'm not sure I understand your 'season' thing. Can you not ride your bike all year there? Or is it some kind of insurance thing?

So mysteriously the weather improves, temp rises and the skies part.... in Denmark for the riding season on this exact time and date every year? Here in Canada, the riding season starts whenever winter decides to leave...

It's an insurance thing, - on a normal Bike insurance you are allowed to ride from March 1 till December 1.
It is possible to get a year round insurance, but it will run you like 2-3000us$ a year, so 99% of riders here in Denmark have the normal one.

Spring officially starts here in Denmark on March 1, so normally the winter is gone when the season starts.
It does however always try to make a few comebacks, giving us snow and subzero temps for short periods in March and April.
