tank bra discoloration

hey guys i have a discoloration on my tank (a black line that caused by the tank bra's inner seams). is there anyway to remove this? ive tried polish and wax and it didnt help at all. it seemed that the discoloration is all the way into the pain!

if it's all the why through the clear into the paint, then short of repainting the tank, there is nothing you can do. you could try a tougher polishing compound like McGuires Scratch X or something similar.

the surface is super smooth as though the mark had been "laquered over". i was afraid of that.

Scratch X will get it out, you just have to apply, then re-apply, then re-apply, then re-apply....eventually it will go...

I just got the same sort of line caused by a tank bra out of a tank that had the bra on it for 10 years...

however, do u know if you have to remove the tank bra every single time it rains? that sounds too troublesome for me. i've just got a tankpad on and i'll probably let the bike go bra-less if i really have to remove it to let it dry everytime i'm caught in a downpour.
