Synching TB's at first service?

I have the throttle body sync tool, if you're anywhere close to CT we can do both bikes at once! I did mine once already, at first service, did not require any changes.

Who's better than you? I would be into that, why not? Connecticut isn't that far from me. What part are you in?

I'm almost tempted to buy one, then "rent" in on the forums and let it make it's way around North America! Each person just pays to ship it to the next guy.

I think that would be a great idea for a tool that you use rarely. Maybe you could start a thread and see if we can find 4/5 guys interested in splitting the initial cost and then let it pass around forum members. I would definitely throw in a $20 to support the idea..

Yeah the goal is to get all four lines lined up. Some also do this at like 4,000 or 8,000 rpm and set them at this too.

The cost of a Morgan Carbtune is about $100 and I'm looking into getting one. It basically pays for itself after one syncing as your dealer charges around $85 for syncing the throttle bodies.

Any advantages using the Morgan carbtune over the Motion Pro Syncpro carb tuner? They seem to be about the same in price but i have seen it a tad cheaper shopping around.

If you don't end up doing it on your own, you might want to shop around.

I just picked up my '09 Wed and the dealership gave me a coupon for my 600 mile service - $180.

That's beacuse how to adjust the idle and it's setting is shown in your owners manual :rtfm:

i was gonna do that, then i remembered we go the bike second hand and slightly banged up:squid:. 1 key and the bike is ALL we got.. but that is why this place is here one quick post and questions answered or pointed in the correct directions to find them.:thumbup:

is the sync really needed at only 600 miles?

It's a good idea. In the first 600 miles, your valves are settling themselves in, and this changes how each cylinder flows air. Which in turn affects the synchronization of the throttle bodies.

If you didn't do it at 600, no big deal. You haven't harmed anything. You just haven't had the bike running as smooth as it could have been.
