I went from stock bars/no risers to:

First 1" risers/1" setback, then added 1.25" risers.

Side view, I also tried to reduce the vibration with a strip of hard rubber I got from the hardware store.

I then added FZ1 bars.

With the FZ1 bars there is plenty of slack to add another inch to the risers, but it is starting to look funny.

Now that I have found the winning combination of 17T front sprocket and Vibranator bar ends to ease the vibration I may go back to the stock bars to see how they feel. I love the FZ1 bars but I also like to be as upright as possible.

Since you want both higher bars AND less sweep, my suggesting would be combination of wolfe1down's bar riser + FZ6R bar. This bar has the same rise and with as FZ6 bar, but not nearly as much back sweep.

There is no difference between FZ6S and FZ6N, as far as bars go.

The #1 reason I suggest this over any aftermarket aluminum bar: vibration. Plenty of people use alu bars and love them. I used one for a season and while the angle / with was perfect, I experienced more vibration even with heavy HVMP bar ends.. which technically are not recommended for alu bars.

You are so wrong about this.

This FZ6N used FLAT BAR Style handlebars, in fact on the speecsheet of the FZ6N that is one of the items.

And the FZ6 S (Faired) use a bend style (i dont know if that is the name)

Wich one is more confortable... i dont really know... i think maybe the S version could be, but i am not sure about it.

You can even check the specs here... https://www.motorcycledaily.com/2003/08/12august03_2004yamaha_fz6/

Flat handlebar, is a thing on the FZ6 Naked Version.

I believe that the answer was referring to USA versions. Here in the States we never got the FZ6N.

Just an note that the post you are responding to is 8 years old......
