managed to drop a piece of wood in my tank and have a dent and crease in it :(

how much is a replacement tank? can you only get them from ebay or would yamaha have some?

do the S2 tanks fit the previous model?

is it worth just getting it filled in and resprayed etc?

kinda annoying as my bike was in mint condition, though at least it's not brand new

uk prices please :)

I'd say a new one from yamaha will run you around at least 600 us dollars. That's around 360 UK? And you won't find any "new" ones online or on ebay.

Trust me I've been looking for a while now lol good luck in your search!

As long as it is dented inward and not poking out further than the original dimensions then putty and repaint is easy. I did it when I first got my bike from the previous owner and again just this last week thanks to my own little accident.
Every tank I see has the same type of damage after a wreck. Usually a deep oval/round dent in the front sides of the tank. Caused by either the handles or the pavement. It looks like the handles are to blame.
Let me know if you need some pointers since I did this at my house and no one can tell it was ever damaged.
I picked up a spare tank that is dented off ebay to do this exact repair and either sell or keep as a backup for my next "mistake".

The dealer price for a new tank is about $800 plus tax in Louisiana, LA. Not sure about your area though.
