Repainted my fairing - black accents

That was all the proof I need!!! What kind of paint was it, or does that not matter? You just saved me buying another part! SWEET!!!!

I used "Trim Paint - OEM Black" that I got at VIP for $5 or so.

To sand, I bought the medium and fine sanding sponges (about $10 total) Doing it again, I would probably spend more time sanding, possibly even wet-sending to get it smoother - the tiny scratches in the plastic are visible up close, even after painting. But from 3 feet away it looks fantastic, which is good enough for me!

For the engine cover, make sure to get a high-temp paint.
 
That's what I thought, too. On the right side, the slider definitely helped, but on the left side, the engine cover is the first thing to hit. Judging by the damage to the slider, though, i still think I was better off having it, still. It does make me consider an engine cover guard or a longer slider, though

I was thinking more like this kind of eyeliner:
