Is the FZ6 radiator and FZ1 radiator the same, or at least interchangeable? In desperate need of one and i'm having better luck finding an FZ1 radiator for a decent price.. Thanks!

After some looking, it seems the older (99-04 or so) r1/r6 radiators are very similar, even the mounts seem to be in the same places. Would I see any problems in using one of these? As long as it does what it's supposed to right?

I would think that you could use the FZ1 radiator if you can mount it! It will be larger and should provide better cooling in hot weather. But I would think, off the cuff, that the hose fittings might be larger than the FZ6's?

Yeah, I suppose that's why i'm asking before diving in and buying any old radiator (works fairly well for old cars.. just needs to flow coolant) anyone got a clue about those older R6 radiators? They look like they may be a similar size.. will I run into any cooling problems running one of those if it came down to it?

Are you replacing a bent or damaged radiator?
If so, Mylers Radiator Repair in utah does a bang up job at very reasonable cost. They may be able to repair what you have. They have fixed some messed-up stuff for me.

If you need to buy one, and used is okay with you, I suggest you give the folks at Motorcycle Sport in Oxford, AL. they keep good stock in used bikes and parts.

They may also know about interchangeability with other models.
Then there is Willies Cycle Salvage in AL also.
I have their phone numbers at my shop. All three companies are on the web I beleive. If you want the contacts info you can pm.
