Recently picked up an 06 GSX-R 750 and have been on a few forums. Pretty common for them to switch to an R1 or R6 throttle cam which is 1/5 or 1/6 turn respectively. My FZ has been my track bike and the long throttle throw is a pretty big pain. The gixxers require some modding of the throttle housing for the R6, but I figure our Fz would be pretty similar if not identical. Any input?? I couldn't find anything through the search other than throttle tamers.

How is there not a single reply?? I find it hard to believe no one knows the answer, and if it's a stupid question let me know. With it them both being a yamaha and using a detuned R6 engine one would think the throttle housing would be similar. Starting to lose faith in this forum.:stupidpc:

Not sure man, I'd be interested in hearing though. If you get any answers please let me know.

Don't lose faith in the forums, lot of great stuff going on here and I'm still new.

It's not a stupid question at all. I haven't honestly heard anyone doing the mod on the FZ6.
What is the advantage of the Mod?

FZ6 throttle assembly part numbers [Unable to find a decent link to microfiche]

5VX-26335-00-00 CABLE, CLUTCH

5VX-26111-11-00 HANDLEBAR

4YR-26241-02-00 GRIP (LEFT)

4YR-26240-02-00 GRIP ASSY

51J-26246-01-00 END, GRIP

5VX-26311-00-00 CABLE, THROTTLE

5VX-26312-00-00 CABLE, THROTTLE 2

I'll leave it to you to check part compatibility, don't give up on the forum. Do a little ground work like checking out part numbers and people will be very interested. Especially if this is a potential fix to the current on off throttle issue of the otherwise fine FZ6 is.

According to your stats, you've been on this forum since April of 2011, yet you only have 14 posts. The more people contribute, the better the answers. Just sayin.
