And this from a rider whose state is currently doing a study to allow it? Man, you're killing me and this is anything but a good example of how to lane split even if the film is on fast forward. Lane splitting is a skill like any other and I can tell you from years of experience doing it without incident it is quite safe and far safer than this BS they have here in Kentucky and Tennessee where bikes are rear ended all the time. I was on the interstate (65 for Steve) coming out of Nashville when 2 18 wheelers got together at like mile marker 115. It backed up traffic for miles. So, rather than sit there with an air cooled bike I started splitting slowly up the highway. Surprisingly the truckers gave me plenty of room as did many cagers but they were pretty much at a crawl or stopped and this is what lane splitting was meant to be. It was never meant to be life in the fast lane blowing through cages going 30mph faster than traffic. Just out of curiosity, have you ever split traffic? If not, what are you going to do one day when it may be your only out to a crash. I guess you'll figure it out when you need it right? That to me is where the danger comes because you won't know how to handle it and that crash may be a foregone conclusion.
