Nightmare in slow motion last night

I do the same as marinafazer when I approach a light I shift to 1st and brake to a stop at the same time. I also plant both feet then if I want I lean on one leg. I figure it also helps a Marinafazer also said I am 6-3 and I am sure that helps for this situation.

Occassionally (but, not recently) I might get a shoe lace around my gear shift lever...but no BFD; I just slip it off because I immediately know what it is. I think after a while, it's second nature. Probably the same with pant cuffs? Now for advice: Get frame sliders YESTERDAY! Don't waste money on a new casing, just spray paint or sharpie it. Advice correction: Get frame sliders LAST MONTH! Before long, it will be YOU giving out advice to noobies.

Glad you kept it up. I have used rubber bands around pantlegs on bicycles im sure it would work here too.

I did the complete opposite thing the other day. I pulled away from a stop and the top of my boot was stuck to the peg feeler. I was moving so no problems other than a bruised ego. Live and learn

I got the loop of my riding shoe looped on my gear shift. I didn't drop it but I felt real stupid. It took a long time to get lose. I have small loops in my shoes now.

I was taught when doing my CBT (UK) about 10 years ago now, to cover the rear brake, so keep the right foot on the peg. The reason is that if a dumb f**k rear ends you at a traffic light, you don't get sent out into cross traffic. I put this training to use whilst actually out riding the road during my CBT.
Can Nelly or one of the other UK lads confirm that this is still the case?
