This is my 05 before and after shots...I added a Carbon Fiber gas cover, tank pad, Puig racing windshield (black), flush mount turn signals, and aluminum oil cap! It was a good Christmas! (I also picked up a JR Manta tank bag and some FroggToggs!)

What did you get for Christmas?

Looks really good!

I got and installed the BackOFF brake light modulator and a CoreTech super mini tank bag thanks to Santa.

I'm thinking of getting a Puig windscreen but it looks like getting anything other than the black racing screen for pre '07 FZ's is going to be a challenge. Did you see any other versions when you were shopping for your Puig?

I was actually looking for the black racing screen, so it worked well for me. I didn't want to use a touring screen, but just because I think they are too big for me. If this helps, the Puig racing screen is slightly taller, and therefore pushes the wind around you much better than stock. I haven't gotten over 50 mph yet, but I should get on the interstate today. If you want, I can let you know how that feels as well. Overall, I absolutely love the look and ride of the racing version.

Please let me know what you think after your highway rides, I'm interested.

Funny thing is, I cut down my stock windscreen about 6 months ago because the stock height seemed to direct the airflow right at the base of my helmet. This made it noisy as hell so I decided to try cutting it down to move the airflow. It seemed to work great with my old helmet and I really liked the change. About a month ago, I bought a new helmet and I guess the shape is different enough that the wind seems to get under it a little and kind of tilts my head back. That makes the old neck pretty tired after a couple hours so I thought I'd give the taller screen a try.

Alright, so I just got back from enjoying a 75 degree sunny day here in Birmingham, AL. I gotta say, I like the Puig on the highway. I'm about 5'9" (with my riding boots on!) and it doesn't take much tuck at all to avoid the wind. With the stock screen, I had to lean almost all the way over to really get the wind around me. So, me liking my new screen. Now it's off to other mods!
I'm looking at some clutch and brake levers and some other stuff. Trying to decide what to do next!

Mods are looking good. Sounds like you got bit by the mod bug!! This is the best place to catch it

Thanks. I've only had my FZ for a little over a month, and there are quite a few little things that seem to really make the bike stand out. I'd really like to do the exhaust and rear fender eliminator, but I don't want to shell out the cash. I'm loving the site for ideas though! The search function rocks!

Well done! Just some small changes really make a difference! The FE Kit isn't that expensive. The new cans sure are though! Nice work!

She's beautiful! I'd like to do a few things to mine but not sure where to begin. Hey, I was just in your area yesterday. My parents live south of Birmingham. Have you been to the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum? We went this weekend...amazing experience!

im loving the flush mounts..are they model specific or universal..do you have a website i can visit?

Rumble - Yamaha FZ1 (06) / FZ6 (04-06) Flushmount LED Signals

This is the site I got them from. I did some searching and this was the cheapest I could come up with. And yes, they are model specific. Some folks don't like the flash rate (too fast), but I feel like it makes me more visible. There is a flash rate controller available on this link as well.

And to AlisVolatPropiis, yes, I've been to the Barbers Museum. You should come out in May for the AMA Superbike races. It's an awesome weekend of racing. Bring your bike, your lawn chair, your cooler and sit out and enjoy the races!

Looks great, but I noticed you REALLY need some tires...

Yeah, I know :D I've been spending some time reading the tire info on the forum. I've only had it a short time, so I haven't gotten around to it yet. The rear is actually in good shape, just the front that's getting worn.
