Yes. Harley Davidson "bikers" will generally look down on crotch rocket bikers! This stems from a "wanna-be-Hells Angel" biker mentality that HD riders like to be associated with. Any contact between the outside world when riding their lumps of immovable metal will mean banishment to the depths of heaven, where god-forbid, they experience happiness. Sports bike riders on the other hand are young enough to handle the speed and genearlly dont care what bike you ride, they are more welcoming and dont look like a cast from the YMCA music video.

Harley riders think their bikes are the be all and end all and don't appreciate any other style or brand. They tend to be older and in mid-life crisis mode and putting on a show of being tough, but really don't do a good job fooling anyone. Sport bike guys are out for a good time, friendly, appreciate what different bikes offer and are friendly. They don't try to fit into a mold, they just are what they are!

Middle aged, overweight white male trying to act bad ass. Lack of protective gear to look "cool". Don't feel tough untill they are in a pack of other Harley riders. Exhausts that are too loud and give 0 performance.

As far as the "Harley" folks go I am uncomfortable approaching them when out riding. But - when on the road I feel connection with any MC rider when we meet and we both give the wave.

There can be. I've me elitists in both factions. I do feel that I've met more sport bikers willing to share and enjoy motorcycling with anyone who's willing. HD and many cruiser-riders I've met are much more content keeping to themselves or only spending time with people who identify with the same HD/cruiser culture.

Cruiser riders are all about the chrome and polish, don't tend to take as long of rides and more worried about their image. IMHO sport bike riders are just plain better at riding and enjoying it.

Definitely. When I see other riders, they usually wave at me or I wave at them and I don't even know these people. Also, we as motorcycle riders are exposed to greater risks, but we all go out and ride (safely) anyways because we enjoy it.

I prefer to listen to techno or anything that is instrumental, but honestly I listen to all music.

I haven't met a great amount of H-D riders, but the few that I have talked to have been very friendly and cool just like any other sport bike rider. However, i have noticed that the older crowd tend to ride Harley's and the young kids ride crotch rockets.
