Motorcycle selection in U.S. sucks!

Like others have said, we have a huge selection of cruisers, but when it comes to sporty motorcycles in the smaller displacement range, we hardly have any. I would really like to see a modern day FZR400 in the US, that would be awesome.

Since we talking smaller displacement bikes, here are a few in India:

It's much different over here in Europe...I've been in Germany for 4 months now (coming back tomorrow!!!!!) and I've traveled all over Europe seeing the sites and enjoying the change in culture. The main thing I've noticed...tons of two wheelers. It's not just motorcycles, mainly because of the strict laws that are placed that make riders go though certain steps before getting to the larger CC engines. There are so many scooters and mopeds it's scary. The US depends on vehicles for most of our transportation because of the "urban sprawl" that we've applied to our cities, making mass transit and vehicles that can't reach 60mph useless. When you add into that the concentration of people and the utter LACK of parking...the smaller the vehicle the better chance you're going to be able to park within 20 minutes of your arrival somewhere.

The MOTO GT following over here is also MUCH stronger. The variety of bikes is staggering to a level I didn't think was possible. My buddy and I rented some bikes a month back and I had choices before me that had my mouth watering. Of course since I was in the market for our loverly FZ6, that's what I took out. My buddy ended up with a Speed Triple, and we spent a weekend touring the twisties here in Deutschland. :Flash::rockon::thumbup:

When it all boils down to the question "why" does the US market get shafted...the answer is the most basic business concept around...supply and demand. We simply do not have the overall demand for two wheel transportation that places here in the EU have.

It sucks for us all...believe me...if the Euro weren't valued higher than the dollar I would have been bringing a European bike home with me!!!

Awesome bike!!! it sure is better than the "only" bike similar to the one we have here, and I say similar just because they are of the same class, but never would the NINJA 250 compete with the Yamaha.
