Too funny - rode the bike all of 2013 and never did install this bushing. I have new one, so I'll smack it in there....

But ya, brake lever was a little loose.

Melty to the Bushing.. .. .. as in who knew it was plastic inside or teflon or and what ever it is.

Anyway - to keep the PC out, it had tapered silicone plugs in it from both sides. When I pulled them out, it there was a molten puddle of goo in the middle between the plugs.

Lastly - if you don't order the security bolts for the ignition key, 8mm X 1.25 pitch X 20mm is what you'll want to install the lock again.

Bump for painting party some are involved in this weekend!

Warming the engine will reduce the odds of paint sag, runs, drips.....

Process for items with Paint on them already OEM finish etc.:

• Wipe with prep-sol (removes oils, silicone's, grease etc).
• Wash with detergent in hot water. Further break down any oils. Dry part(s)
• Scuff with green scotch brite pad
• Blow off
• Wipe with prep-sol
• Heat in oven. Metal only up to 200F, lower if other materials are attached
• Allow to cool slightly
• Spray base color coat - return to oven
• Spray - return to oven
• Spray - return to oven
• Cook for at least an hour
• Spray enamel top coat - return to oven
• Repeat as needed based upon wear and sun exposure potential.
• Return to oven to cure for a couple hours at 150F
• Done!

Variant for repairs on engine (covers etc):

• BEFORE Sanding: Wipe area repeatedly with Prep-Sol or Acetone. Wash with soap and water.
• Sand area smooth. Finish paper should be at least 220 grit, but 320 grit would be best.
• Shake rattle can paint for at least 5" and make sure its at least room temperature or warmer.
• Mask off bike.
• Wipe area to be sprayed with Prep-Sol.
• Warm Engine but not too hot! Say 120 - 150°F (engine oil temperature)
• - If you warm the engine first it will reduce the chance of the paint running/sagging/dripping.
• You'll want to spray so as to fog it on. Meaning, one coat may not cover all of it. Plan on 3 to 4 applications. Read the can. You MUST WAIT for paint to "Flash Off". meaning, when sprayed it will be shiny. Once the wet shine flattens, and its tacky but not completely dry, apply another coat.
• Warm engine if need be.
• Repeat applications shaking can in between cure times.
• Allow to dry until no longer tacky (bugs won't stick) and go for a ride.
