Basically, in 1st gear when I hit roughly 6000 rpm the engine/exhaust starts making a 'duel noise' - the engine sounds like it's starting to strain. Then at 10000 rpm the bike loses power and actually starts to slow down!! It feels like a massive dip in power. Anyone any ideas please?

dirty air filter? clogged fuel lines/filter perhaps?

i think at 3k and 6k the engine runs slightly lean for european noise testing stuff, so there's a bit of a flat sport there, but after 10k it should take off :/

It sounds like a fuel issue to me, like something is obstructing the flow not letting it get enough fuel at higher rpms. Does it act the same all the way to red line? How many miles or kms do you have? I would go ahead and put some fuel treatment in it, check the air filter and check to see what your spark plugs look like.

Completely agree with ChevyFazer. Sounds like a clogged fuel injector -- 6k is when the HP really starts to pick up and requiring a lot more fuel. Fuel or air...most likely one of the two.

+1....im guessing if its still smooth at idle that its not an ignition system problem
it should take off like a bat outta hell at 10k+

maybe check the pump wiring? if there is a wire somehow loose that doesnt let the pump maintain the proper pressure to keep the engine running properly.
^^ thats a bit of a stretch but not impossible

A candidate for rusty tank? Whats the inside of the fuel lid and tank look like? You see any signs of rust or corrosion?

Whats the battery status and how well does it crank when starting? Have you recently done ANY work to it?

How long has this been going on? 2 tanks of gas, 1 ???

Couldn't hurt to lift the tank and check the air filter either.

If the Tank is Clean and shows no sign of contamination, I'd pull the plugs and replace them. Look over the ignition system too. Is it temperature sensitive? Runs OK cold but gets worse when warm?

Does it run OK from 7 to 9 or just flat from 6k up?

Coil? I had a bad one on the R6 and it wouldn't pull above 11,500, redline is 15,000.

The only way we found it was on the dyno and saw the CO radically peak when the coil cut out at 11,500.
