Looking at for an FZ6

Which 07 used FZ6, Blue or Red

I am looking at two FZ6's on craigslist, the local dealer is not getting any in this season. For some reason they ordered all FZ6R's. On craigslist there is a blue one going for around $5500 with 1200 miles and a red one with 200 miles going for $6000. These prices seem really high on these, but I am afraid I don't have to much of a choice. They are both 2007. One thing that could help is which one is faster and handles better? Blue or Red? :confused:
 
thats why u are able to react much faster to the stop sign when they are red....

can't imagine a blue stop sign rite:D
 
If you can find a bus that goes from here to there, I would be more then happy. I can say that is a nice looking bike! I know the trip from seattle, WA to anchorage is 2,400 miles. And most of that is on a 2 lane crappy road. There are so many nice looking bikes on here. I am just stuck up here with my choices! If someone was selling in seattle area, they could ship it which I would pay for.

Speaking of which if anyone is in seattle/tacoma area, PM me if you see any 08's left over at the dealerships.
 
Even if the prices are high, you can try haggling with the owner. Bring cash in hand and try negotiating. I bought my brand new really really fast RED 2007 FZ6 new OTD for 6,500. That bike is two years old now and has depreciated. I would aim for 5,500 since it has so low miles.
 
I gotta say, that Red '07 has yummy written all over it. Even has the lower cowling - nice! And we all know that once a blue FZ6 starts going really fast, the blue colour peels off and the red is revealed...:D

Why don't you buy one from Canada?? I've seen plenty for sale in Edmonton for Canadian bucks which are down against the greenback right now. If you found one for $6000 CDN it would be about $4800 USD. I'm sure whatever it cost to "import" would easliy be worth it. Check this one out - 2006 with 4000km, extended unlimited mileage warranty to 2012, comes with a freekin' cool helmet...$4400 USD.

Ok, so I had no idea what I was saying in the title for this forum. Makes no sense. And we are tied 50%/50%. this isnt helping me much!
 
My personal recommendation is not to worry about the color at all (i know i just pissed off some one by saying that :D ) But to honestly take the couple hours and the couple dollars worth of gas and go visually look over each of them and physically ride both of them. Who knows, one of them could have been broken in improperly, or one has some scratches that you don't want.

All I am saying is that if you are leaving it up to a poll to decide the color of your next bike, then you must not care too much about the color. and if a 1000 miles doesn't bother you and they both drive the same and are both in the same condition, might as well go with the $5500 one and get some mods like a PCIII or a brand new Scorpion Exhaust with the other $500

Either way, just don't make a decision that you will regret later

That price sounds fair for a dealer price. I bought my 2006 in the fall of 2007 for $6k OUT THE DOOR (includes taxes, registration etc) :eek: In the end, yes, I could have gotten a used one for cheaper...a lot cheaper, BUT I'm very happy with my purchase :Flash: and there is something to be said about peace of mind with a new bike that only YOU have driven and that YOU have serviced yourself :rockon::thumbup:

oh yea...mine's red and runs a safe pace some might consider criminally insane at some points :eek::squid::ban:
 
The poll was more for fun, because after reading these boards I realize how much of a big deal it is to everyone. I do prefer the blue one, but I the red is growing on me. I think price, and condition are more important then the color. There is an 06 that has popped up for sale here. Can be had for around $4500 with 3k miles. Its red, and looks in good condition. Of course would have to go look at it in person. So I could save about a grand to go with an 06. Is there really that much difference between the 06 and the 07? Suspension? Engine power band?? Reliability?

Don't worry, we all know it's all about the rider since we're on the same bike. I'll bet a bunch of the guys here could outpace someone with the sprocket change kit just through throttle control and shifting alone :)

Changes from 2006 to 2007...

Thanks for the above advice. The only/cheap way to ship up here is from seattle/tacoma on a barge. I know there are nice upgrades on the 07, but is it worth the money? I have never seen a pre 07 in person, nor have I ridden one. My experience on bikes is my ducati monster s2r. A lot of low down torque, but coming to be expensive to maintain. If I went with the 06, I could do some mods, exhaust, brake lines, etc.
 
In fact, I completely agree. Despite the quoted "sales pitch" from Sport Rider magazine, all the years are great. Same R6 motor in them all, just different tuning. Same dimentions, same great ride. I think it's primarily cosmetic differences, though I do think the 4 piston brake calipers are a good upgrade. Everything else is really to taste.
