Little ride this past weekend (pics)

So I decided to take a short ride up to Malibu and back on Saturday morning. I got up late and it was squidtastic up there by 11:00 or so when I finally got up there. There were so many people tapping their helmets that it looked like a lame game of charades. (The top-of-the-helmet tap from another rider signifies police presence somewhere nearby, generally from the direction behind the tapper). Indeed, I passed a couple of cops.

So I decided on a spur of the "bail after going through Malibu/SM Mtns. one way"-moment, Tales from Ventura:

This was my second-longest ride. I totally did not intend to do it but I got carried away. I think I did about 240 miles all told.

hey man so i went to ride sat at 11 and i went to the rock store, took some canyons, but there were so many cops!! a..holes!!! anyways tell me which canyons you rode, direccions!!! ill like ro ride them

Hey, my girlfriend was in town and we'd have joined you 2-up on my FZ! You should post when you're going to do rides!!!

I'm busy this Sunday, but maybe this Saturday? I ride the Malibu area and I used to do the PCH to Ventura ride all the time! Good coastal ride. Never been to Lake Casitas before though. Post in the ride section or Pacific section next time!

I will totally post up when I plan to ride out next time. We ride pretty consistently on the weekends; usually I am the sole voice voting for Malibu as opposed to ACH. However, last weekend (Aug. 2) a couple of friends and I went out to Ojai, up to the Cuyama Valley and back down through Ojai again - it was about 360 miles all told:

The ride in this thread was similar, except that I did not go past Ojai. Lake Casitas is the little blue area under "Oak" in Oak View just south of Ojai.

I have posted a few times in the SoCal forum, but I never got any traction. I will begin posting in there next time I plan to ride. Like I said, this one came together kind of spontaneously.
