Keeping down pipes shiny

Thanks guys for your input, I picked up my FZ6 last saturday, traded in my FZS600 due to a ''person " knocking it over. So yes my first consideration is to bring the pipes to a perfect finish, so I will try Autosol this weekend.
My only concern is to follow the pies up to the silencers (mufflers for our North Americain friends) all those tight bits to get into. I will let you all know how I get on and any advice will be greatly appreciated.

i only put about 25 minutes on the clock with autosol and steel wool 0000 and notice a HUGE difference. I still got more work to do. Hurts my damn torn rotator cuff

I use brake clean and 1000 grit sandpaper, then never dull. It works well for me.

Another thing you can do is get your pipes ceramic coated.....finish is excellent, and way easier to keep clean...grime jusat wipes off...and the coating only gets harder, and stronger, the longer it is on the bike...and it is cheap to do...about $150 in Australia at least.

You just take the pipes off the bike, drop them into the Powdercoating joint...very similar process, and they do the job, 48 hours later, you get them back looking like new!!!

It is very simple, and easy to sort, which is why i cant believe that more people dont do this to their trashed headers!

Ditto. I guess I thought I was a little different from most other folks but I like the natural golden brown hue my headers have taken on. On my black bike I think that this looks better than the original shiny chrome.
