Is That an FZ6?

Stopped for gas just before I got home today and the guy next to me was staring at the bike with a smile on his face. He finally walks over to me and says: "Is that an FZ6?" I said yea, you're the first person to ever know the bike since I bought it in August. Turns out he's been into just about everything on two wheels since he was a kid (I'm guessing that was about 30 or so years ago). Done every mod, taken them apart and put them back together again. Last bike he rode is a Harley ElectroGlide (sp?) and he's just kind of gotten into a rut. Hasn't ridden in a couple of years. But he kept staring at the Fizz and smiling and after we chatted for a few minutes said: "I could do some pretty cool mods to a bike like that." It's been pretty cold here but I've ridden for the past 5 days in a row. Haven't seen another bike on the road. I'm hoping my pit stop today brought a motorcycle Jedi Knight back into the fold.

it is nice that the FZ can still inspire some nice conversations. especially with folks that know something about bikes.

Heh heh. I love being the only guy out. My HD buddies won't ride if it's below 60 degrees! I tend to ride a lot of weekdays and in the cold. I avoid heavy and rain and snow though.

I was on a nice tour around VA, WV and MD last year and it was pretty much a wash out. Complete downpour all day. I stopped for a cup of coffee in Williamsport, MD and right after I pulled over (before I even got off the bike) an older guy walked up to me, holding a folded newspaper over his head to block the rain, and said "hey, is that an FZ6?" We got to talking and he invited me in to his daughter's coffee shop to warm up and dry off. He was a motorcyle and car nut. Knows just about everything there is to know about bikes in general and British cars in particular.

Thats a good point Reio, I have not met anyone who has said "Is that an FZ6" its an instant "I know what I am on about" line.

The FZ6 is a BS detector I like it.
