In regards to my fz6 being pushed over......

It was a two page advertisement, in which Buell (or the ad agency repping them) stated that they were basically too cool and too into their sportbike experience to wave at another rider. You know, "My intensity and one-ness with my bike and the road doesn't allow me to acknowledge other riders, etc.":Flip: (not a direct quote, just my summation from memory)

It was kind of funny, but kind of elitist at the same time.

Not exactly the message of the ad campaign, but a lot of ppl took it the wrong way :)

If I am tucked in mid apex, I won't wave either... that's just me :Flip:

For the record though, I`ll wave at anyone... scooters, bicycles, Harleys, kids, hot chicks... I don't care

That's why Wavex (David) never waves to me....Oh yeah...that's right...wait a minute...he does wave to you when he's passing your a$$!!!:Flip:

:rof: you're always right in front of me or right behind, so it's true we rarely wave at each other... we do use this signal often after a run though "", which means f**k that was awesome!!! :BLAA:

I think most halfway intelligent riders know not to wave on an apex, I hope.
Or are happy with a nod if you are in the middle of an intersection, getting ready to change gears, etc.

I always wave at children, never at bicycles if they are wearing spandex, gives me the creeps. Perfect time to practice wide screen vision.

On nice days that I have to be in my car, I catch myself wanting to wave at bikers, so I peeled the FZ stickers off my bike and stuck them on my car windows.

Since we're far far away from the original topic of this thread... here are some more controversial Buell ads:

Yeah, I remember when Buell won that MotoGP championship....oh wait that didn't happen!!

Are Buells actually any better for all this "innovation"?

Difficult to win a MotoGP champ, when no Buells ever participated... Keep in mind, Buells were not designed to be homologated race bikes, they were designed to be street bikes with street-usable power... big big difference.

What does "better" mean anyway? Eslick won the AMA Pro Daytona championship last year on a Buell...

Oh and some ppl think they ain't bad, see attached.

Not bad for a local US company of 200ppl...

Okay This post has been totally Hi-Jacked and I for one won't be part and parcel to any of this! :spank:Any who wish to stop behaving as animals and return to a more civilized forum manner please click here to bring us back to order: Back to proper forum etiquette!!!

Yeah you're right, I had the ad in question a little skewed. Erik Buell always wanted to take the path less travelled, and I admire his ingenuity with the gas in frame, oil in swingarm, split radiator, etc., but I too wonder about the effectiveness of some of his engineering.

And yes, thread effectively jacked! :spank:

Who cares... buy a bike that you like for the purpose that you`ll use it for and just ride the damn thing! For 99.9% of the riders, a few pounds of unsprung weight more or less, a 2inch lower CoG...etc won't make any major difference in the actual riding experience, so it's all marketing (on both sides) anyway... imo... just get a bike and ride it :D

Those Buell ads are interesting, some can be taken in the wrong way, but interesting all the same.
I personally nod because I dislike taking my hands off the bars :D
