Found a buyer for the GS in a week!

Of course

So when do you take delivery of the KTM? I see that it's now actually a 690cc, yes? And they have extended the service intervals....that is going to be a great bike. Chances are I'll own one in a coupe years.

I got the 950...it's a BEAST.

I think it's arriving at the end of March.
Yes it's the famous LC4 engine that wins at the Dakar. The engine has been bored out to 690cc and given a counter balancer.
The 2012 models have more horsepower than the previous years.
I'm excited! I want to make a "690 Adventure". Hey I don't live next to Moab, so I got to make it decent when I go the distance....
The service intervals are reasonable....I'm not making this a commuter bike....maybe I should buy one, haha.

Yeah I bet your bike is a beast. It's only like 100 HP taken offroad. :D:thumbup:

Specifically it's the engine from the 2010 Duke R.

On your tool case? Or cooler...

So do you have a long trip planned this year?

Nope!
Well maybe....
I'd be ok doing some 3-day weekend stuff....I'd like to go on the Hatfield McCoy trails.
But who knows....I may do something big...I just want to have fun....but I dont have anything planned....

The buyer took the bike away today. He doesn't seem to be a Starbucks rider, so that's good.
I put more than 14,000 miles on it in one year. Some decent rides, plus one epic ride....

Goodbye! Time to eff-up a new bike!

I think I look good in ORANGE.

So first impressions from a former GS rider:
The hydraulic clutch is like butter. OMG!
Brakes are great. Crushed my nuts.
Nice power. Got up to 90mph quick.
Nice gearing for the dirt, coming from my GS.
Love the ergos sitting and standing! I don't need risers. Nice wide footpegs.
Vibrates more than my GS. Hard to see in the mirrors. I knew this already when I bought the bike.
Light, confidence inspiring in the dirt (well in my backyard and some construction site).
Fun! I had a smile on the whole time.
This is my tallest and lightest bike. It fits me fine.
Lots of nice, small things that make this bike something other than a parts bin special. Wave rotors, for example.
I'm going to love this bike!

Where's your bike, Defy???!! C'mon! :D

Graz! I saw a ktm just like that in the parking lot and couldn't help but stop and just stare at it for a couple minutes. Different bars may very well solve your mirror vibe issues. Great looking bike!

If I wanted to drop like $3,000 more into the bike, I could get the rally fairing like this:

I won't buy it , but I can still admire .... :)

I love your new bike, the only reason why I got rid of my ktm is well...it was a 89 and let's just say electric start is real nice on those cold mornings. But that ktm would run circles around the klr I traded it for!

Check this out though!!!!

I've been eying this real hard, it's a 640 adventure!!! I didn't even know we had these in the states!!! But sadly there's no way I could come up with the money...

Oh man, it looks great! I'm jealous! Pretty sure a used/modded new gen 690 will be my next bike in a couple years.

For now I'm sticking with the extremes (950 and 250 2T)
