Helmet lock help?

Does anyone know if this helmet lock will work with our bike (06 model - hence need for helmet lock). I was thinking of mounting it to the frame near the rear passenger peg. (see pic) It says it secures to any 7/8'' in round tube, anybody know the diameter of the frame off-hand?

Also, what have you pre-07 model guys done to thwart the lack of a helmet lock? I'm open to suggestions.

all i know is the handlebar of the fz6 is 7/8 "
so maybe you can compare that tube with the handlebar to see if it would fit

I use a masterlock with key on my '06 and attach it to the small triangular piece attached to the passenger foot peg. Works dandy, but you gotta carry the dam thing everywhere!

My brother has an '05 and the guy he bought it from outfitted it with something that looks just like a helmet lock on the place circled in your photo. Just pop the key in and voila...and the piece is bolted to the tube holding the passenger foot peg.

of course, keep me posted if that purchase fits, because I'd love to stick a black one on and stop carrying around a masterlock in my saddlebags. I guess i'm lazy
