1000ft: 9.940

It would be pretty cool if any of who have mods and have taken it to the track would post your results.

Very nice times!

Now, if you'd like a laugh, I went to Lebanon Valley Dragway last Wednesday evening, 6/2, on my 2007 ZX 14.

First off, I'm a touring rider who has put on over 100k miles on my CBR1100's and ZX14's (yes, owned 2 of each!).

My best run was:
Reaction Time: .028
60ft: 2.08
330ft: 5.10
1/8: 7.41 / 106.82
1000ft: 9.40
1/4: 11.09 @ 133.84mph

Rider weight with gear < 200lbs

Yeah, I stink at launching and running a bike hard but it was so much fun!

:)

I want to do this really badly but am afraid of doing a wheelie and finding myself on my back looking at the sky! That would be really emabarrassing! :(

That's no joke, I almost did just that with my Interceptor at my first open drag night. "Almost" was embarrassing enough. :Flash:

Yea your gonna wheelie a few time but just grab the clutch and youll be back on track. What worked for me was to launch at about 5-6k and slowly release the clutch from the friction point...if your tires are sticky enough you should be ok.

Re: FZ6 quarter mile times and timeslips (after leo vince)

Went back to the track today and decided to put the Leo's to the test:BLAA:. The track conditions were better today even though my bt20's are completely worn out (about 10 000kms) so the first 60ft arent any better. Heres the fastest run, managed to beat an r1 with a ****ty driver believe it or not;

Reaction: 0.07
60ft: 1.965
330ft: 5.04
1/8 mile: 7.57
1/4 mile: 11.60
Mph: 119

Maybe I got better but I feel like the leos might have their part considering my rubber sucked :Flip:

Im thinking Ill keep track of my times as I add mods onto the bike...gives a rough idea of how efficient each one of em are. Next up is a pair of michelin road 2's, cant wait to see how much of a difference thatll make. This winter Ill throw in a power commander, new filter and racetech suspension.

Yea thats a personal best. I try anticipating the light as much as possible during the practice runs...get a few reds and then usually by the time we go heads up I cut it consistently under 0.1. Its pretty much my only chance of winning agaisnt the bigger bikes

Why dnn't you post the other riders times too. Don't they give you a slip showing the times for both riders?

I'm impressed with your times. What is the elevation there? The temp probably a big factor too. My best run is below at about 800ft elevation and 90+ degrees F.

2008 FZ-6 Stock
Dial ... 12.50
R/T ... .399
60' ... 2.154
330 ... 5.455
1/8 ... 8.133
1000 ... 10.477
1/4 ... 12.499
MPH ... 110.06

Care to share some of your techniques? What RPM do you shift at? Do you use the clutch or not when shifting up? Etc...

Yea no problem. Temperature definitely makes a big diff. Im about 200ft above sea level and Id say temps was about 80 f. I usually bring my revs up before Im done stagging at about 5.5-6k with my weight all up front. When the third yellow is solid I let the clutch out slowly and from there I tuck in and try to shift at about 12-12.5. Also make sure you choose either the left or right side of your lane as the middle can be rather slippery. I also like to bring my tire pressure down to about 28psi in front and 30 psi in the back. With practice u should be able to bring it flat 12 or high 11's in no time :thumbup:
