The above is a nice video covering the bearing part of the process, too.

In this vid they mention cutting with a disc to remove the lower stem bearing. Because the OEM bearing is doesn't have a lip like a tapered roller bearing(watch vid), you have little choice!.

As a final note: DO NOT just smear grease on the outside of the bearing and throw it in the hole. Hand pack it with a big blob in your HAND LIKE THIS GUY STARTED TO DO BUT - >> BUT -->> keep packing from the same side in the same position until the Grease comes out the other side of the bearing. Now rotate the bearing a small amount and keep packing until the grease comes out the top again. Do this for 360 degrees of rotation! It's messy but you want the grease to fill the voids between the bearings and the cage.

Turning it over as this guy did, is NOT helpful as the gap for the grease to enter is VERY SMALL. Do it from the widest side where the cage has a straight edge, not the rolled over edge, the grease enters much easier!
