DuPont Teflon Multi-Use Lubricant no longer available in-store at Lowe's?

Hey all:

I've been using the DuPont™ Teflon™ Multi-Use Lubricant that many have raved about on my chain for the past several months. It's great stuff. I've been able to readily find it at Lowe's stores in Southern California. However, today I went to get a new can, and they don't have it. I asked an employee if they were expecting any and he wasn't sure, but commented that it was great for bike chains...imagine that!

So, I ask the customer service person to look up the item and see when they will get more in stock, and it seems that they are no longer going to carry it in-store, only online. What?!?

Is this the case in other parts of the country as well? That sucks if it's true. It was cheap and convenient to get it at Lowe's.

I also notice that on DuPont's web site that they are now marketing "DuPont™ Teflon™ Chain-Saver Lubricant" as a consumer product, which is essentially the same as the the Multi-Use, IIRC. Before, wasn't the "Chain Saver" product only an industrial product?

Guess I'll have to find a can online. Bummer.

I was at Lowe's in Burbank last week and they still had plenty there.

FYI, you can purchase the industrial version of this from McMaster-Carr
part #8710T35, 14 oz., $8.80/can

I have been using it for 2 years, best spray lube I've ever used. The 14 oz. can is good for about 5 lube cycles.

I hope they are wrong and more shows up. I checked at two Lowe's in San Diego county so far and both have none.

Do you have an Ace Hardware nearby? I have bought it there also.

Yeah, there's an ACE right down the street but no luck! The guy there said some ACE's might carry it.

Ok, I'm totally blown away right now. I ordered 2 cans of the DuPont "Chain Saver" from McMaster-Carr yesterday afternoon. I just rode home from work and there's a box on my patio...with the cans of lube! I didn't even pay for expedited shipping. Wow. Awesome. Unbelievable. +1000

What a nice way to end the day!
