Hey all:

I've been using the DuPont™ Teflon™ Multi-Use Lubricant that many have raved about on my chain for the past several months. It's great stuff. I've been able to readily find it at Lowe's stores in Southern California. However, today I went to get a new can, and they don't have it. I asked an employee if they were expecting any and he wasn't sure, but commented that it was great for bike chains...imagine that! ;)

So, I ask the customer service person to look up the item and see when they will get more in stock, and it seems that they are no longer going to carry it in-store, only online. What?!?

Is this the case in other parts of the country as well? That sucks if it's true. It was cheap and convenient to get it at Lowe's.

I also notice that on DuPont's web site that they are now marketing "DuPont™ Teflon™ Chain-Saver Lubricant" as a consumer product, which is essentially the same as the the Multi-Use, IIRC. Before, wasn't the "Chain Saver" product only an industrial product?

Guess I'll have to find a can online. Bummer.

I hope they are wrong and more shows up. I checked at two Lowe's in San Diego county so far and both have none.

Yeah, there's an ACE right down the street but no luck! The guy there said some ACE's might carry it.

Just ordered a couple of cans from here. Thanks for the tip!

Ok, I'm totally blown away right now. I ordered 2 cans of the DuPont "Chain Saver" from McMaster-Carr yesterday afternoon. I just rode home from work and there's a box on my patio...with the cans of lube! I didn't even pay for expedited shipping. Wow. Awesome. Unbelievable. +1000

What a nice way to end the day!
