I unpluged the switch and removed from bike and masked everthing off,trust way easier

im confused? how did you paint this? the only way i know is to cut the ignition bolts and remove everything... did you figure out a new way?

i just left the switch in and unpluged it and then masked it off very well

I ended up just taking a dremmel to it... actually a buddy of mine did... ended up trimming the bolt back slowly until the head came out, didnt even touch the ignition!
