So many accidents happens here when drivers in the opposite side of another accident want to see what happened and how does it look, then lost there concentration and create a new accident.
Agree with 'not in front of truck' and 'WTF yellow driver' thoughts.
Hope he rides again.

The start of the chain was a very stupid manoeuvre by the bike cop. He relies on the truck being able to pull into the outside lane, the cop can't see properly round the truck, if a car or bike was overtaking the truck what would the truck have done:-
He couldn't have stopped in time
He could have killed an innocent
He could have drove over the cop
The cop got of lightly, yep the guy in the yellow car was stupid, but this could have gone a lot worse before the yellow car even arrives on scene.

I cannot see any reason for the police bike to move off the white painted section. At the beginning he stops on the white section and starts waving the traffic over and they satrt to move. As soon as he moved forward onto the highway I thought "What an idiot". Rule number 1 in these situations is "Keep yourself safe".
I have no idea what the guy in the yellow car was up to but he had plenty of time to slow down, if not stop.
This was not all the fault of the guy in the car though. The police officer has got to take a big slice of the blame.
As an ex police officer I hope I am being fair.

Having seen Cloggy's picture it maybe that the drivers were looking (rubber necking) at the other accident.
