any correlation here?

Maybe I'm going 97 and me speedo is really off ? I'd say 7-8 k rpm to be more accurate an avg of 70-80 mph on the speedo plus weight brake drag wind resistance , I have e41 plus school supplies and I'm 200-220lbs with fear but I still get 45-47 mpg
I have pr3 I try to run 36psi f 38psi r stock gearing although I think my chain and sprocket are on the last leg. Edit I do about 7.2k rpm and I'm at 80-85

i know on my bike:

7K in 6th is 84 mph

and in 4th gear the rev's (*1000) match the speed by a factor of 10, ie. @4k - 40mph, 7k - 70mph, 11k - 110 mph, etc. and pretty darn spot on all the way up the tach. so 8k in 6th has to be over 10mph faster than 84, so yeah, his 97mph is probably right. but the speedo is probably 5mph fast at that point, so 92-ish...

makes much more sense. . . tks

I was like damn...... I'd be flying at 8K in 6th!

Mine is totally stock. 09. I'm averaging 44.9 mpg right now on Fuelly.com (Barbie Blue MkIII). 56.4 mpg was my best.

Did the airbox mod and didn't like it so I went back to stock. Seemes like it bogged a little when I would hit the throttle. I like the way it runs stock.
