passed my direct access test thursday, my brand new fz6 s2 was picked up on friday insurance all sorted and on the road at 11.am.

wow what a bike!!!!!!!!! now the learning to ride really starts. I am taking it very easy as I need as much running in as the bike. Just a shame about the British weather.

Have read a lot of posts on here over the last week which has already really helped, thanks all

Thanks for the warm welcome, Why did I choose the fazer? Not having a licence I could not test drive any bikes so took shed loads of advice and became impatient so wanted to order a bike on the chance I would pass the test.

Got it down to the 650 abs bandit or the fz6 s2 abs. How do they compare ? The fz was £1200 more but just seemed better looking and I was advised a more exciting ride when I get some experience. Also the 0% deal was a big draw.

Really pleased with my choice of the blue one , crash bungs fitted and top box on the way. It seems to fit what I wanted ,, a commute, bit of weekend fun and the occaisional road trip. Was £5k a good deal for this ? I have little knowledge of the bike world but loving gettng into it.

Been to a local bikers pub all very friendly, my riding school have been great, and local friends keep turning up on my drive with their bikes for peek at my new toy.

Then I find that as I pass all other bikers on the road they nod their heads, I have never had so many friends.

Congrats on the newest family member! too bad about it being blue (just kiddin')...

it was kind of funny reading the title about "midlife crises". I was thinking bout that last night and i think "midlife adventure" sounds a lot better!

Everyone else has already said this but :welcome:. And take it easy, its probably got a lot more power than you're used to, especially if you were just recently restricted to 33 bhp. I'm yet to experience mine at sea level (currently at 7,000') but I hear that its almost frighteningly powerful when compared to altitude!
Also don't foget to be careful with those new tires, they can be pretty damn slick.

Yeah as the guys say m8 enjoy ur machine and stay safe

You never stop learning about bikes and riding, this forum is full of good advice on these things

take it easy for this year and maybe an advanced training session in the spring would be good. the police run ones up here that are great
