Acerbis Dual Road Handguard and FZ1 bar?

I know it's still hot out there, but I'm already looking to extend my riding season a bit. I have Oxford heated grips, but like most people, I find them to do very little good overall since the outside of my hands get frozen from wind blast below 50 degrees.

I saw on one thread that the Acerbis Dual Road Handguards work, and only touch the fairing a bit at full lock, but that was with the original FZ6 bars. Has anyone fitted these or other guards with the FZ1 bars? I'd think this would cause more interference. Worst case I'll look into heated gloves, but would prefer not to.

It's pretty creepy getting the idea to outfit my bike with handguards again almost 1 year to the date. I was Googling and found this thread. I never did mount handguards to the bike before, though I did find another forum member who found the Barkbusters S1 will not work with the FZ1 bar.

Anyone else use handguards with the FZ1 bar?

fz6 s1's windshield is not allowing bigger handguards. but maybe that handguards can be fitted with handlebar risers?

I like the ergonomics and sportier position that the FZ1 bar gives me, so I won't be raising it. I guess all handguards are too big?

Turn your bars full left and right and see how much room you have. I have Powermadd Star handguards on my bike (2007 with a modified stock handlebar - essentially the FZ6R bar) and they just barely contact the fairing near the mirrors. I can still lock the steering, but they're touching the fairing. They help a little bit in the cold, but n the winter time, I install these ATV mitts over them - the handguards prevent the mitts from interfering with the levers. I'll have to do that. I remember there were some kind of "wings" that were available from Yamaha everywhere but the US. I can't think of what they were called as their name was not descriptive, but they essentially extended the fairings out a bit to block the wind going over your hands. For the life of me I can't find them.
