5 or 6 speed?

Rookie question..I have an '06 FZ6 in shift red, listed as an FZ6S on the dealer paperwork. Dealer says its a 6 speed, website lists the FZ as a 6 speed, but i swear, i'm only going through 5 gears. Am I just losing my mind and not counting 6, or is it actually a 5 speed?

You're correct that you're going through five gears. Since you start in 1st, you'll shift five times to reach 6th.

Ok glad to know its just me losing my mind! I just finished the MSF class this weekend to get my license, so been out riding around as much as i can. Thats the only thing thats been irking me because i usually try to keep track of what gear i'm in coming into stops! Sidenote...definetly loving the bike!
