Well its been two years since I made this my first choice for my first motorcycle after 3 and 1/2 years of riding scooters and I think it was a perfect choice. This bike has helped me come to understand motorcycles.
The bike is very easy and comfortable to ride. It is FAST and can out run any car on the street with little effort. It splits lanes great and is nimble once you know the bike. "Flickable" comes to mind. I used to ride scooters, and I know flickable in SoCal traffic. This bike is just enough to make it fun and feel safe to ride in and around and through traffic. And the freeway? This bike lacks no power to 125mph or so. It just shoots straight up. I love the I4.
Bike has given no issues but the kill switch. Which is going in for replacement this week. Otherwise, perfect. Stout, solid, comfortable and smooth operation all around. No mechanical failures or faults. Only time stranded was dead battery (replace every year from now on) and kill switch issue. Otherwise as they say "start, gas, go." Period. All over hot, cold, congested SoCal. This bike has seen its hills, highways, and potholes. I am a somewhat demanding rider, so to speak. On the bike. And the bike feels the same as it did two years ago.
So just FYI for new members and riders here who might be new to the bike, and all you great old members, too. This forum is a wealth of knowledge and info on this bike, so thanks a lot. I will have this bike until it dies, and that won't be for awhile. So I will be here for awhile.
But not too much. I have some riding to do!
The reason I say "no regrets" is I look at other motorcycles. It sounds like a woman (or man) thing, I know. But its true. I am getting another one for practical reasons. But be it BMW, Honda, 1000cc, twin, I4....whatever. And well, I don't get too excited. Because this bike really leaves a rider wanting for nothing. I rode the bike for 5 hours today in all kinds of conditions and never even had a thought but to keep moving forward. Got off the bike and had no aches, pains, or complaints. Fast, lightweight enough, fun. Power for days. Well, in its class. But you know...no regrets. Period.
