'08 FZ-6: ER_1 Code...help please

I'm having issues with uploading pictures from my computer. When I can figure it out I'll post the pictures

Would appreciate any directions on how to go about it

Explanation from top left:
1) Headlights down & back of the dashboard removed
2)Broken pin in the harness connector
3)Trying to bypass the pin by using an external wire to connect the wires originally connected to the broken pin
4)Dashboard back on holster
5)Bypass completed on both wires (with the external wire)
6)Dashboard connected & all connectors greased & socketed back
7)Headlight in position
8)Er_1 gone

Note:
My bike didn't stall when the Er_1 error came up, probably because it was an issue with the dashboard connectors
