'07+ fender brackets for R6 fork conversion

Alright guys, I have designed the brackets to fit the '07+ FZ6 fender on the '06 R6 forks (not sure about other years). I'm going to at least make some for myself, but I'm willing to make a few more sets if somebody is interested. If I get 8 people interested, they'll be around $10-$15 + shipping for the 4 black anodized 6063 aluminum brackets (or clear anodized if you'd like) and 4 stainless flat head metric screws. The price is just covering mat'l. If nobody wants any, I'll just make mine and not order extra mat'l & screws. Please PM me if interested. Oh yeah, this is assuming that I can make them or call in a favor...

The new brackets are a little longer to get the fender to hug the tire a little better than shown:

If I remember, I"ll measure mine tomorrow evening before reinstalling my front wheel. Maybe I can get some "practice" on the lathe at work (BTW, check out the tire forum if ya wanna see a smokin' Pilot )

I'm going to test fit the fender with some cutouts of the new brackets as well, to make sure my measurements are correct. I'll see about making some templates of the nec. cutout on the fender too.

Taking them to get anodized next week. I plan on sending PMs requesting payments on Dec. 8th or 9th. Looks like it'll be around $22-$24 per set. That includes shipping, 2 front brackets, 2 rear brackets, 6 stainless screws, 2 stainless locknuts, and instruction sheet w/ cutout template. This will put $0 in my pocket, but cover what I spent on all the materials. Not a bad deal I'd say...

I'm actually dropping them off today for anodizing, and they should be ready to ship by the weekend.

Anodizing tunred out great. Got my bike back together lastnight.

When installing the front bracket, use the flathead as the spacer and tighten:


Should have a uniform gap between the fork & fender:


Should be a gap between the bracket & brake caliper (sorry for bad resolution...)

Finished product:


The tire-to-fender gap will be slightly larger in at the rear, but only an 1/8 - 1/4", which isn't noticable.

I also put my stock brake line holder back on, just had to bend it inward:

Thanks again Ryan the brackets rock! :rockon: Hopefully if will dry out this weekend and I can conduct a high speed stability test on the uber top secret Hellgate speedway! I'm sure they will make the Fizzer 10% faster and quicker, I bet I can break 165!. :thumbup:

Unless I'm missing something, the "06 R6" forks actually look like 06+ R6S forks. They should also be the same as 03-04 R6 forks. Many 05 R6's had inverted forks which were retained in the new body style of the 06 R6 but not in the introduction of the 06 R6S model.
