04 FZ6 Dies on throttle - sort of

It was a bit over in my case... My brother brought it to a dealer near him before he sold it to me... I incorrectly assumed they knew what they were doing... In either case. The RF is what my dealer said we'd try after the tps. Run a double shot for 500 miles or so, he said.

The over fill is why most dealers are frowned upon.. I could tell MANY stories.

Not all dealers are bad by any means, but, over filling a crankcase, jeez..

At least this dealer mentioned the RF. It does work, extremely well.

I'm willing to bet a beer it solves your problem..

I'd run it at least 2x the recommended amount, up to 3x's as it won't hurt anything. It will take some time, its not an immediate fix, it needs to work thru the entire system. And it also cleans the top end/rings too!..

The more you learn about the bike, the better.

So… the RF appears to have worked. I now only notice the problem when the bike is cold. As soon as the rpm bar stops flashing, it's good to go. Thanks everyone!

What mixture did you run the recommended or higher?

BTW, IMO, keep running it but you can go lighter with it, it does make a difference overall. And it goes pretty far (1oz / 10 gallons)

Somewhat expensive per bottle BUT much cheaper than shop trips/ trouble shooting, general headaches...

I ended up putting in 2x and running it. Turned out pretty well, I'd say.
