Dumb question: does my 2011 FZ6 S2 have ABS?

Here's the ABS light (the 1 show the location): The light should light up for 2 seconds when you turn the ignition on. It should be permanently on in case of an ABS failure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Tips for shaving/lowering the seat?

That's how I did it. An authorized Yamaha shop did it for me. It cost me an arm and a leg, but that's Norway for you - everything is expensive. Hopefully you can get it a lot cheaper in your part of the world. -- Sent from the restaurant at the end of the universe, probably using a PC, an...

BikeVis Bullet LED Lights for Visibility Review

Here's a pic of my bike, where you can see the bullets. They are located just below where the indicators are fastened to the bike. See the two small yellowish dots, midway between the orange blinker and the shiny fork? That's them. You can barely see them on this pic as well. The bullets...

    Tips for shaving/lowering the seat?

My FZ6 was lowered 1" in the back and dropped 1" in the front. I had no problems with balance, wobbling, stance or anything else. The biggest problem with lowering the bike 1" is the side stand. Mine was mechanically modified to keep a certain lean when parked. This mod is docmented in another...

BikeVis Bullet LED Lights for Visibility Review

I found a different location for them. The bike is sold now, but if I can find the other FZ6 in my neighborhood I can take a pic and show you. Or find a different pic on the web and indicate the location. -- Sent from the restaurant at the end of the universe, probably using a PC, an iPhone...

    Time to say goodbye...

Thank you. I wasn't really looking for an aftermarket exhaust, air filter or Fuelpack, but this one has all three from Vance & Hines. It adds a nice, deep growl, so much that I am very careful when I leave for work in the morning. But the main reason I bought this exact bike was the fact that...

    Time to say goodbye...

I guess it is time for me to say goodbye and find my way over to the Yamaha Star Bolt forum. I bought the FZ6 in 2009, but the last 2-3 years I have only put 3-400 kms on the bike. The things that make the FZ6 so great turns out to be the things that made me switch bikes. I don't need the RPMs...

    New Swingarm Decals Available

I bought these back in 2011, and put them on my 2004 FZ6 a couple of weeks ago. OK, I'm a little slow... ;-) Looks good, excellent quality! -- Sent from the restaurant at the end of the universe, probably using a PC, an iPhone or an iPad.

highway cable barriers and motorcyclist. NSFW

They are used in Norway as well. Here, they are called "cheese slicers" by some bikers for obvious reasons. [emoji45] -- Sent from the restaurant at the end of the universe, probably using a PC, an iPhone or an iPad.

BikeVis Bullet LED Lights for Visibility Review

Old thread, but I have a couple of question regarding the bullets... I just received my Bullets v2 today to compliment the Hyperlites modular brake lights that are on the way, and was wondering how the long term experience is with the original bullets. Firstly - Are you still happy with...

Video: Take care - be seen!

A new bike season is starting for many of us, and i'd like to remind everyone that it's a new bike season for cagers as well. They are not used to seeing bikes in traffic yet, so take care and stay safe! I think I may have posted this vid before, but if I haven't - here is a reminder to take...

a view of the hyper lite tail lights

Of course, they could be unaware of where Oslo is, but I selected "Norway" as my destination country when ordering, and that should be a pretty good clue. Looking at their web site and order form now, I guess I forgot to change the shipping option from "USPS Priority Mail (US Only)" at 5.50 US$...

a view of the hyper lite tail lights

Regarding my "rant" about shipping costs: I just had a look at the invoice for the Hyperlites, and shipping is specified at 5.50 US$ for delivery to my address in Norway. That is a very good price! It would be more costly to send the same package within Oslo. Looking forward to seeing the LEDs...

a view of the hyper lite tail lights

I ordered the double 8 LED (and the bracket), with modulation. I already have the TailBlazer modulated brake light, so I figured that the dual 8 would be enough. Considering extra LEDs in the front, but then I would like whiter main lights as well, to match the whiteness of the LEDs. Think...

a view of the hyper lite tail lights

Oh, BTW: The Hyperlites web site is impossible to use with an iPhone or iPad, as it uses flash. I can't see the different products, so I can't make up my mind which to buy. Maybe they should spend a little on web design to sell more of their products...? Just my 2 cents... -- Sent from the...

Does anyone know where I can buy this kit with reasonable shipping to Norway? Shipping usually costs an arm and a leg when ordering from motorcycle webshops in the states, and then there is the 25% tax on both price and shipping (oh yes, tax on shipping costs!) when crossing the Norwegian border...

What boots does everyone wear? (Not track boots)

I'm using the Norwegian M77 army boot. Not the optimal choice, and with non-existant protection against anything except street rash. Being only 165 cm tall, I am looking for a pair of ridning boots that offer good protection and preferably with some height in the entire length of the boot...
