I guess it is time for me to say goodbye and find my way over to the Yamaha Star Bolt forum. I bought the FZ6 in 2009, but the last 2-3 years I have only put 3-400 kms on the bike. The things that make the FZ6 so great turns out to be the things that made me switch bikes. I don't need the RPMs, the on-off throttle or the 100 hp anymore. It just doesn't fit my need anymore... :-/

As you can guess, I have sold my FZ6 and bought a 2015 Yamaha Bolt R-Spec three weeks ago. The Bolt fits me so much better right now.

So this:

Was replaced by this:

The FZ6 was so ashamed it was hiding under the bike cover in the background.

I'm still in the Yammie family, but in a different branch. Now it's "slow and low" for me...

Thank you all for this great forum, and all the ideas and laughs you have given me. Even though I haven't posted much in the last 2-3 years, I have visited and read as often as I could. This is without a doubt one of the best forums I have ever followed. Thank you once again!

Congrats, and certainly no need to leave; continue to poke your head in once in awhile.
My FZ no longer fit my needs either (nor my arthritic knees) so I got a bigger, slower bike, too.

Ditto on what Botch stated....lots of us no longer have our FZ6's but we're still here...it's hard to leave "family"

So this is the Hotel California of web forums? You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave ... [emoji6]

that looks like what i would replace the FZ with!! good score!!

Thank you. I wasn't really looking for an aftermarket exhaust, air filter or Fuelpack, but this one has all three from Vance & Hines. It adds a nice, deep growl, so much that I am very careful when I leave for work in the morning.

But the main reason I bought this exact bike was the fact that I had to ride it home - 500 kilometers across Norway. From the west coast, across the mountains and to Oslo on the east side of Norway. If I had bought a local bike, I couldn't have taken the same ride for many years. But now... ;-)

Here's the ride home in a few pics (I have to brag!):

The west coast, close to where I started:

Getting closer to the mountains:

Waiting for access through a tunnel where there was a car fire a few days before. They were letting traffic through a few at the time from each direction:

This is at approx 1250 meters above sea level:

Finally at home, after 10 hrs and 498,7 kms. The bike is dirty, my knees are aching and my lower back was happy that I was home:

I did catch a bug or two on my journey across the country. I have no idea how many times I had to wipe the visor clean of bug guts:

I was smiling all the way! Taking in the scenery, registrering all smells/scents and getting to know the bike. Couldn't be happier!
