Well I found the engine bars do do the trick. I was in the alps, and two coaches were approaching each other around a hairpin bend. All the traffic stopped. Unfortunately for me the where I stopped was seriously off camber. With the bike needing to turn into the slope from a standstill...

Its a Top Saddlery seat. Worked well. Apart from the first couple and last couple of days of around 300miles most days were between 130 and 160 miles. I took a few pics, this was in the Dolomites, brilliant place.

Just spent 4 weeks & 4500 miles on a camping tour of Europe, mostly in the Alpine regions riding the passes in Switzerland, Austria & Italy. The FZ6 worked very well. 100% reliable. 60 mpg (UK). The only slight downside was a lack of low down torque for the uphill alpine hairpin bends...

I went the opposite way, from a 1000cc Ducati Monster to the FZ6. The torque of the Ducati was very nice, but the all round usability of the FZ6 had me sold. So it all depends on your priorities. And remember running a 1000cc bike will cost more to run generally.

I found the wind stayed directed at me still, but with considerably less turbulence, very noticeable on a long ride, as there was less buffeting of my head. There is a slight difference with the positions, but I cannot figure out which is better, I tend to leave it on the highest.

I did 450 miles in 9 hrs, with about 4 short breaks. Wasn't too bad, but really enjoyed a long soak in the bath afterwards....

I generally get 55mpg (uk) but have had it up to 65mpg on the motorway cruising at 75mph.

For5 info, I bought the MRA vario sport-touring screen, and that worked well.

Has anyone fitted these? I am thinking about buying them. Any info would be great. Did a search but couldn't find anything. Thanks.

As I understand it (please correct me if i'm wrong) but the stock bike cuts fuel completely on a closed throttle, and so when you open the throttle there is a slight delay before the injectors get fuel, hence the 'jump'. PCIII allows a little fuel to flow to the engine on a closed throttle, so...

What are those racks you have fitted for the soft luggage? They look very good.

I'm rather partial to a cigar, Don Ramos are my preferred choice.
