I think these are the Fieldsheer Titanium Air 4.0 Mesh pants, but I can't find the receipt, so they could be the previous version. I don't think there's much difference. I've worn them fewer than ten times.
Size 34 Waist. I'm a 32 waist so I wear these over...

I used it for a few months, but felt too conspicuous (which I guess is the point).

I was going to switch out the swingarm on my 2006 and install the new version, painted silver to match the front fork. Now I'm selling the FZ6 so this goes too.
Prep:
All the swingarm holes were sealed and the exterior bead blasted to remove the black...

I bought these new from Duncanmoto for $180 plus tax.
They are used but in like-new condition. There is the smallest bit of wear on a hidden portion...

I'm the second owner. First owner was a woman (if it really matters). She took good mechanical care of it and kept it clean. I've tried to do the same.
Upgrades:
All Ballz Head Bearings (this year)
Michelin Pilot Road 2 (last...
I'm looking for a pair of these side pods. They need to fit a 2006 model. I think that means 2004-2006 but perhaps through 2009?
See attached image. Thank you!
I rode with my GPS to work this morning to try to figure out what the actual MPH are. It was very unscientific, but here's what I found:
Speedo 35mph = 33.0 mph gps
Speedo 40mph = 36.5 mph gps
Speedo 65mph = 59.5 mph gps
Speedo 77mph = 70.0 mph gps
My speeds varied a few mph so I...
I use a battery tender when it's cold out and got some Aerostich Warm Wrap Heated Grips to keep my hands warm on cold days. The battery tender came with a pigtail that I had hooked to my battery. The Aerostitch grips use the same SAE socket.
12V Outlet (SAE type):
PowerMate Kit, PowerMate Kits...
With a full face helmet I can't really see if my turn signal has been left on. I'm tired of leaving one on and driving around like an idiot.
My plan is to mount a green led on each of my mirror stalks that faces me. It would augment the indicators in the instrument cluster.
The mechanical...
I'm frustrated by the lack of good comparisons and statistics in tire reviews. I've been evaluating which tires to get all based on what I think I need/want and what information I can find on-line. Have you switched tire makes/models and found one better than the other?
My commute has worn...
A couple of days ago (Thursday?) around 10:30 PM and I was riding around town checking the headlights on my bike after adjusting the aim. I saw what looked like a blue FZ6 parked in front of Newton North High School. Did it belong to anyone here?
I was looking for something a bit more protective than my cover and a bit smaller and less expensive than a canopy shelter or instant garage. I found this on line and I thought it looked like the best thing out there. It has a floor and a collapsing cover, along with some other great features...
I was looking into stainless steel bolts to replace some of the fasteners that are slightly rusting. I came across this valuable web page explaining stainless steel fastener properties. Thanks to Joe (BMW rider) for the article.
Keeping It All Together, Part 1
To the rider of the red FZ6 - I was the guy at the back of a line of road bike (cycling) riders that waved. I've got a pin for the dual headlight mod if you'd like to double your light output. Beautiful day for a ride!
I made one electrical mod by doing biker_dude43's dual headlight mod. I love having two low beam lights, but after a week of riding and then letting the bike sit for 3 days the battery was almost dead (not enough juice to start the bike). I'm using standard wattage bulbs so I didn't think there...
I searched the forum for an answer, but didn't find one, so here it goes.
How long does it take a street tire to warm up? Now that it's in the 30's and 40's in the mornings and evenings I'd like to be sure my tires are warm before leaning the bike into a turn. I've noticed that just starting...
Yesterday I found "Cat Crap" anti-fog product at Eastern Mountain Sports. I thought I'd give it a try.
Today I removed my shield, cleaned it, applied Rain-X to the outside and "Cat Crap" to the inside. Cat Crap comes in a small red tub. It's the consistency of petroleum based lip balm. The...
My next mod project is to add on a wind deflector near the top of my windscreen for those long distance rides. (a few hours in the cold of Maine last night convinced me). If you've chopped the top off of yours or have something you're not using I'd pay shipping to get it. I've got a smoke...
I'm considering doing a dual headlight mod, or adding auxiliary fog lights. I've read that if lighting has too much draw then the battery will not charge properly. Does anyone know the maximum draw that can be used without impacting battery charging?
Is it wattage, amperage or something else...
