I use a battery tender when it's cold out and got some Aerostich Warm Wrap Heated Grips to keep my hands warm on cold days. The battery tender came with a pigtail that I had hooked to my battery. The Aerostitch grips use the same SAE socket.

12V Outlet (SAE type):
PowerMate Kit, PowerMate Kits & Cables, PTB-005 - Bike Effects .com
Grip Heaters:
Aerostich Warm Wrap Grips :: Heated Grips and Accessories :: A to B Utilities :: Aerostich/RiderWearHouse Motorcycle Jackets, Suits, Clothing, & Gear

The originally installed the pigtail that came with the battery tender to hang down on the left side of the bike. The last picture shows the original plug location. It was generally inconspicuous, but having the heated grip wrap wire plugging in down beside the bike didn't seem like a good idea so in this went.

I've attached pictures to show the install.
