I had a Bill Mayer seat on my FZ6. Rick and Bill are brothers and are the son of the original founder of the Russell Daylong seat. Bill Mayer does, in my opinion, a more thorough and complete rebuild of the seat from the seat pan up than does his brother Rick who, by the way, has a very bad...
Thank you to you and your lovely wife for getting this together and making it happen. Received my shirts end of last week and they're great!

Bryan, this was for fun more than anything, and to get us all out there riding our great FZ6's. While the prospect of a prize was nice, the greatest prize of all has been the memories collected from some really great riding for me this year.
Happy and successful New Year to you as you...
I'm leaving tomorrow morning to ride to FL for the long New Year's weekend and, since I'll be taking that OTHER bike, I thought I'd go ahead and post my ending mileage. This is for the year-round contest, started in January 09.
Starting odometer: 14738
Ending odometer: 23814
Not too...
Yes, mine is set up this way, as well. FWIW, my '09 BMW with braided SS brake lines is set up similarly with line running straight down between the forks and splitting in the center of the front fender.
I've been using Zumo 550 for 2.5 years. I chose it because I wanted XM radio capability (XM transponder is extra) for music, weather and traffic alerts, and I also wanted MP3 capability and bluetooth. Well worth the price, IMO. I've been extremely happy with it and appreciate that it came...
I took the Beginner MSF years ago when I first got my endorsement and then took the ERC a few years later. The best thing I got out of the ERC was the opportunity to practice the U-turn exercises on my own bike and to push my comfort limits in a controlled environment. We did two sequential...
Thanks, Brenda! I did Zion and that area a couple of years ago and loved it. Was really glad this opportunity came up to ride the Moab area and see some different parts of Utah and far western CO.
When I get out that way again, I'll try to remember your kind offer. Of course, if you ever...
Thanks Fred. I was on the white BMW, not a V-Strom. The BMW was definitely suited to the task of riding the paved roads, but not so good on dirt.
Several in our group did trailer their small dual-sport bikes out there, and one rider from Colorado even trailered two bikes: one for...
I got to Moab on Sunday afternoon, May 10 and our group pretty much took over the Inca Inn and Adventure Inn on the north end of town. We rode the area Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Not sure if you saw my white BMW but it's possible. I definitely want to go back.
LOL! Yep! lots of BMW's there, no final drive failures. But we did have several failures, including a failed chain on a V-Strom, a clutch slave cylinder (my bike: see write-up on this in my blog), a coil on a BMW GS, carburetor rebuild in the parking lot on a DR, and the list goes on...
We had a great trip, close to 50 folks showed up. Some trailered so that they could bring two bikes: on-road and off-road. Some great eats in that town too! I left Houston on Friday, got to Moab mid-day on Sunday; we rode the local areas for 3 days - Mon, Tues, Wed - and then I headed for...
It was hot the first two days - high's into the mid-90's - but the third day was quite pleasant, in the high 70's. Those of us from SoCal and South Texas were okay, but we did have some folks from the north who suffered a bit.
Okay, I was on the BMW not the FZ6, but there were times when I really wished I had brought the FZ6. Some REALLY great roads out that way...like CO-90, CO-141, the road through Colorado National Monument Park, UT-128. Now I want to go back. Fun! Fun! Fun!

I just returned from a trip to Moab, where I rode many twisty roads including the one that runs through Colorado National Monument park, going from south to north. In this direction, all left-hand curves had "air" - meaning no shoulder or guardrail and immediate drop-off down the mountain on...
